PTU Trapped in My Web tutorial



Supplies

Kit: The awesome PTU kit Halloween Nightmare by Soxsational Scraps
Tube: Halloween by Kiwifirestorm available at The PSP Project
Template: Template 51 by Millie available here
Mask: HalloweenGlowingPumpkinsMaskbyTonya available here, or mask of choice
Font: Witches Magic or font of choice
Program of choice (this tutorial was written specifically for Photoshop users)

Don't forget to save frequently!

1. Open template, change image size to 550 x 550 px. (Alt+Ctrl+I)

2. Resize canvas to 600 x 600 px. (Alt+Ctrl+C)

3. Delete cr layer.

4. Open TW-HN-Folded ribbon2, resize 75%. Rotate 90-degrees counter-clockwise. Paste above background layer (at bottom).

5. Open TW-HN-Moon with bats, resize 40%. Paste above previous layer, position in the top left.

6. Open TW-HN-Paper6, resize to 600 x 600 px, paste to canvas above layer 1.  Create clipping mask. (Right-click layer and select "Create Clipping Mask".)

7. Open TW-HN-Paper8, resize to 600 x 600 px, paste to canvas above layer 2.  Create clipping mask.

8. Paste paper again above layer 3, create clipping mask.

9. Open TW-HN-Haunted Tree, paste above previous layer. Position as desired.

10. Open TW-HN-Swirl Tree1, paste above previous layer, position on left side.

11. Open TW-HN-Haunted House1, resize 50%. Paste above previous layer, position in top left.

12. Open TW-HN-Ghost, resize 35%, paste to canvas above layer 4. Position on the top right side. Flip horizontally (Edit->Transform->Flip Horizontal).

13. Open TW-HN-Paper6, resize to 600 x 600 px, copy and paste to canvas above layer 5.  Create clipping mask.

14. Open TW-HN-Ghost, resize 35%, paste to canvas above previous layer. Position on the top left side.

15. Open TW-HN-Fog2, paste to canvas above previous layer. Position as desired.

16. Delete layer 6.

17. Open TW-HN-Paper8, resize to 600 x 600 px, paste to canvas above layer 7.  Create clipping mask.

18. Open TW-HN-Paper1, resize to 600 x 600 px, paste to canvas above layer 8.  Create clipping mask. Flip paper layer horitontally. (Edit->Transform->Flip Horizontal)

19. Open TW-HN-Spider n web2, resize 75%, paste above previous layer. Create clipping mask.

20. Open tube, paste above previous layer, create clipping mask. Change blend mode to "Vivid Light". Position as desired. Duplicate layer, change blend mode to "Darken".

21. Repeat above step postioning tube on the other side of the circle.

22. Create new layer above layer 9. Flood fill with #812d68. Create clipping mask.

23. Select layer 9, change blending options, add drop shadow, and stroke set at "Overlay" blend mode color #880808. Position as desired, rotating slightly if needed.

24. Open TW-HN-Paper6, resize to 600 x 600 px, copy and paste to canvas above layer 10.  Create clipping mask.

25. Paste tube again above previous layer. Set blend mode to "Linear Dodge". Create clipping mask.

26. Repeat step 24 for layer 11 and then layer 12.

27. On the right side, I placed these elements:

TW-HN-Toombstone3, resized 45%
TW-HN-Toombstone4, resized 35%
TW-HN-Flower3, resized 30%
TW-HN-Flower7, resized 30%
TW-HN-Flower6, resized 30%
TW-HN-Cauldron1, resized 65%

28. Paste layers of tube, Pumpkin, bats, tube (duplicate this layer and select "Soft Light" blend mode), and cat

29. Add name. I used Witches Magic size 100 #812d68, with 2 px stroke #880808, blend mode of stroke "Vivid Light". Position on the bottom left.

30. Add drop shadow to all elements if desired.

31. Create new layer, flood fill with #870505. Drag layer to bottom of layers.

32. Add mask of choice (I used HalloweenGlowingPumpkinsMaskbyTonya) to layer {Press "Q" while on layer to enter quickmask selection, copy mask and paste, resize to fit canvas (Ctrl-T and then drag each side to edge of canvas, press enter to accept selection), Press "Q" again, then click on the button at the bottom of the layers that is a rectangle with a circle in the middle. Resize as desired and use eraser tool around edges.

33. Add your watermark, save as .png and you are finished!



*Note* I always save my tags as a .psd file in case I make mistakes and to offer to others.
